Find the Perfect Dress to Wear at Your Next Job Interview

No matter how good you are on paper, the first thing a headhunter will judge about you is your appearance. The attire you choose for your next job interview will play a major role in the hiring manager’s decision, so it is important that you choose the right clothes.

Here’s a guideline that could help you out in your next job interview:

1. Pick Neutral Colors

Grey is the most popular color choice for corporate wear. This neutral color conveys power and professionalism when going to a job interview or an important meeting. If you want to play it up a bit, add pops of bright colors through jewelry, handbag or shoes.

2. Sexy but Structured

Wearing a revealing, tight-fitting dress is a big no-no when it comes to job interviews, unless you’re applying for a position that requires you to show off your body. But, if that’s not the case, stick to structured looks. Polished dresses allow you to show a hint of skin without looking too sexy. If the hemline is too short, wear stockings or leggings for cover-up.

3. Consider the Work Environment

Of course, you have to consider the environment of the workplace. For casual and hip workplaces, you don’t have to go power-dressing too much. But, this doesn’t mean that you should wear jeans and flip-flops on your interview. Instead, opt for comfortable dresses that still display professionalism and competence.
