Gwyneth Paltrow Looks Sexy and Sophisticated in Prabal Gurung

Wednesday, May 22, 2013

People magazine’s sexiest woman alive Gwyneth Paltrow stepped out in style for Goop’s summer season party. She was effortlessly sexy and stylish wearing a floral number from Prabal Gurung. Unlike all those bodycon-wearing celebutantes, this A-lister knows how to be sexy without showing too much.

She definitely deserves the new title given by People magazine because not a lot of Hollywood celebs can pull off the sexy but classy look. This stunner is sizzling even with barely-there makeup and a long-sleeved frock.

The sophisticated frock featured a gorgeous oriental print and leather details. The union of floral and bondage is a little unexpected but surprisingly, the mixture works well, even with that hanging chain belt.

The dress is not available online but we found these gorgeous alternatives that also feature interesting prints on silk fabric. Which of these three do you like best?

Jessica Biel Steals the Spotlight in a Roksanda Ilincic Dress

Wednesday, May 22, 2013

Jessica Biel chose to dress up in style as she accompanied her husband Justin Timberlake to the Canal+ TV Stage during the 66th Cannes Film Festival in Cannes, France on May 20.

Although it was supposed to be a moment for Justin to promote his latest movie, Inside Llewyn Davis, his 31-year-old wife definitely stole the spotlight in an artsy colorblocked dress.

It’s like she was wearing an art piece but I personally think it’s what made this dress eye-catching. This also showed off more of Jessica’s fashion sense.

It dominantly features black and white, and actually, that alone is already eye-catching; however, with those statement boucle sleeves in orange, this dress surely captured a lot of attention. It’s a stunning piece! And, having those sleeves was a smart move as they added a pop of spring/summer color to the black and white combination.

Now aside from the multicolored coloblocks, there’s also a draped cutout at the belly that made it look like a two-piece outfit. Interesting, right? Unfortunately, Jessica didn’t show off that cut, but still, she looked good in this dress and not to mention, she managed to show elegance in this artistically-designed ensemble. We didn’t get to see the entire look of the dress on her but it actually features mid-length hem with side slits.

Your New Best Bud: The Iconic Wrap Dress

Wednesday, May 22, 2013

Ever since its debut in the 1970s, the wrap dress has remained a staple in any stylish woman’s closet. No surprise there though — while women’s body shapes have changed over the decades, this Diane von Furstenberg creation is still as flattering as ever before.

Chances are, you may already have this secret weapon in your arsenal. If not, here are a few tips on what to look for in a wrap dress:

1. Fabric: Opt for something that’s stretchy and lets your skin breathe. Cotton, jersey, and silk mixes work well.

2. Cleavage: A hint of cleavage will not hurt, although you might want to lean forward when trying on a wrap dress just to check if all the goods are in their proper place. Take it from me — there is nothing more annoying than having to safety pin anything you are wearing and be constantly checking on that pin.

3. Sleeves: Well, this all depends on whether you’re trying to show off or hide your arms. Wrap dresses with 3/4 sleeves work best with any arm width, and this sleeve length makes your dress appropriate for the office as well.

4. Accessories: If the dress doesn’t come with its own belt, feel free to add your own as this accentuates your waist further. If the dress is in a bold print, tone it down with a blazer or a cardi. Worried of too much cleavage? Add a statement necklace!

When it comes to this iconic piece, your personal style is the only limit. Enjoy our picks for today!
