Were you able to catch the Oscars? Everyone, including us here at YourNextDress, still can’t stop talking about it even after the statues have been awarded. A big congrats to Jennifer Lawrence for winning Best Actress by the way. And hats off to Anne Hathaway (who couldn’t stop smiling after she won) for bagging the Best Supporting Actress award.
As for the most memorable red carpet looks, we really didn’t have a hard time pinpointing those. Sad to say, the Oscars this year was a little underwhelming. And while we took note that pale hues and glittery frocks were the ones that ruled the night, we also couldn’t help but notice that some famous regulars were missing at the high profile event – Brad, Angelina, Cameron Diaz, et al. Nonetheless, watching the celebrities walk the red carpet in their snazzy outfits was still entertaining to watch (as usual).
Of the ladies who dressed to the nines, the six (6) below were the ones that stood out for us. These “Best of the Best Dressed” women got it right from head to toe, that’s why they’re here today. Tell us, do you agree with our choices?
Jessica Chastain in Armani Prive
One of the standouts yesterday was Jessica Chastain. The red haired beauty channeled old Hollywood and looked extremely stunning while doing so. She chose a glittery beaded number in the most amazing salmon color, and paired it with ruby red lips and shiny wavy locks. With her uber creamy white skin, Jessica was simply a vision you cannot forget in her Armani Prive gown:
Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Haute Couture
While some didn’t like the all-too-bridal-white Dior Haute Couture gown Jennifer Lawrance wore to the Oscars, that didnt change the fact that the blond beauty was 100% stunning in her textured floor-grazing frock. Diamond earrings and a jeweled clutch finished her look and kept it classy:
Naomi Watts in Armani Prive
Oscar nominee Naomi Watts was simply amazing in her glittery Armani Prive gown yesterday. The dress was pewter, it was dazzling, and it featured an ultra sexy asymmetric neckline that was just completely swoon-worthy. A loose updo and Neil Lane jewelry finished her look. Simply put, Naomi was a magnificent 10 at the Oscars:
Stacy Keibler in Naeem Khan
She wasn’t up for any awards that night; in fact, she was simply there as George Clooney’s arm candy. But Stacy Keibler could very well have been an Oscar winner, thanks to the drop-dead-gorgeous ultra beaded Naeem Khan gown she wore. It was the kind of dress you just couldn’t look away from:
Amy Adams in Oscar de la Renta
Of the slew of celebs who walked the red carpet at the Oscars, it was Amy Adams who earned the perfect grade for dramatic flair. The actress wore a pale grey pleated and layered Oscar de la Renta ballgown that was literally breathtaking:
Catherine Zeta-Jones in Zuhair Murad
We were initially going to keep the selection to just five (5), but we simply could NOT not feature the dress Catherine Zeta-Jones wore to the Oscars. It was an exquisite number by Zuhair Murad that was very glam, very gold, and very beautiful. She capped it off with large statement earrings for an even more dramatic look:
Other Notable Names
Other celebrities who also looked fabulous in their frocks, and who actually almost made it to our list, were Charlize Theron (in Dior Haute Couture), Amanda Seyfried (in custom Alexander McQueen), Anna Hathaway (in Prada), Olivia Munn (in Marchesa), Sandra Bullock (in Elie Saab), Nicole Kidman (in L’Wren Scott), and Reese Witherspoon (in Louis Vuitton):
Charlize Theron, Amanda Seyfried, Anne Hathaway, and Olivia Munn attend the 85th Annual Academy Awards, February 24
Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kidman, and Reese Witherspoon attend the Oscars, February 24
So what do you think of our selection? Did we miss anyone out? Who do you think had the best look of the night? Our vote obviously goes to Jessica. We just love how on-point she was from head to toe.
If you’re up for it, you can channel any of the beautiful well-dressed women here with any of these Oscar-worthy gowns from Neiman Marcus (assuming you’re willing to blow off thousands of dollars on a dress):
